Money being spent on rec facilities

August 4, 2017

The city may be hoping to build a new multiplex, but in the meantime, they continue to put money into the city's aging rec facilities.

Council has approved the purchase of a new scoreboard for over centre ice at the Miramichi Civic Centre at a cost of more than 39 thousand dollars.
The city decided against dressing room clocks, since it is hoped the new multiplex will be up and operating in four years.
They noted that the new clock will use LED lights, which will cut down on maintenance costs.
They city is also putting money into the golden hawk.
They have approved spending $9800 for repairs  to the roof in the gymnastics room  and $5600 for the roof in the storage room.
