Acadian groups plan to sue over nurse exam
Two francophone groups announced yesterday that they intend to sue the Nurses Association of New Brunswick over its licensing exam.
The exam in question was developed in the United States and then translated into French.
The official languages commissioner announced last week that the test puts francophone students at a disadvantage because of problem with the translation and with a lack of prep-materials.
The office began receiving complaints after test scores for francophone students began to drop in 2015.
As a result, the New Brunswick Acadian Society and the University of Moncton student federation says they will take the association to court to ensure action is taken to fix the problem.
