Police say AED fundraising campaign is a scam
The Miramichi Police Force says they have identified a woman who was allegedly selling bogus tickets as a fundraiser to purchase an AED for a local school.
In a release, Sgt. Bob Bruce says city police, as well as the RCMP, have received several complaints about the sale of the tickets.
This comes a week after officials at King Street Elementary issued a warning on social media that they had received complaints about a women claiming to be fundraising to buy an AED for their school.
But the school had not approved any fundraising and already has an AED.
Police are asking anyone who bought a ticket to contact them.
